Old Romantic Valentine’s Day Traditions

If you want to impress your valentine this Valentine’s day, then I have some historical traditions that you can revive.

  1. Dried Flowers. Sending dried flowers to your lover is a perfect Valentine’s day gift. Also, dried flowers last much longer than fresh ones, so that your lover can keep them much longer.
  2. Making handmade cards and letters. Instead of buying ready-made cards and envelopes, get crafty with the old fashion Valentine’s tradition of making your own. Gather some friends and you can do this activity together. This will be a good bonding experience with your girlfriends as well.
  3. Writing poetry. Sending a lovely poem to your lover is a another old-fashioned tradition that you can do to impress your lover.  Put it on some pretty printed paper, and if you can write in flowing cursive. If you can’t, then if you can print your poem on pretty pink paper then glue it on nice study cardstock.
  4. Being anonymous. This is an old Victorian tradition of sending cards, flowers, and poems to your girlfriend and not writing your name, just putting anonymous at the end of the letter and flowers. Only do this is if you know that your girlfriend likes surprises and loves to find out a good mystery.
  5. sending flowers. Flowers are one of the hallmarks of Valentine’s day. What girl wouldn’t want a bunch of roses, lilies, or a combinations of flowers sent directly to them, or given to them in person?

I hope you will try these traditions and have a great Valentine’s day!
